Cream-Puffs-filled-with-whipping cream

Cream puffs are a favourite dessert of mine. I like them filled with vanilla pudding pistachio pudding or whipping cream. These are filled with whipping cream. Enjoy!

Cream Puffs filled with Whipping Cream

Course: Dessert

Ingredients

  • Ingredients for pastry:
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup butter cut up in small chunks
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ⅛ cup flour
  • 4 eggs
  • -----
  • Filling:
  • 2 cups 35% whipping cream
  • ¼ cup sifted icing sugar
  • 2 teaspoons orange liqueur or orange juice
  • Beat whipping cream with sugar and liqueur until very thick.

Instructions

  • Directions for baking pastry:
  • In a medium sized saucepan, bring water, butter, sugar and salt to a boil. Add all the flour at once and stir until mixture forms a ball.
  • Using a mixer, beat in eggs one at a time. When mixture is nice and creamy, make small balls or oblong shapes with a spoon or piping bag, onto a parchment covered cookie sheet.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F for ten minutes. Reduce oven to 350°F and bake another 15 minutes until a dark golden brown colour.
  • Pierce puffs in 2 places to let steam escape and cool on racks.

  • Filling the cream puffs:
  • There are a couple of ways to fill these puffs.
  • #1. Place filling in a piping bag, pierce cream puff with tip and squeeze in desired amount or
  • #2. Cut puffs in half and spoon filling into puff, replace top.
  • Drizzle with melted chocolate or dust with icing sugar if desired.
